At the Annual Meeting, Infant Welfare saluted it’s 2009 Employee of the Year - Gloria Torres, Manager of Patient Services.

The 2009 Annual meeting was held at the Union League with more than 65 guests in attendance.  Highlights of a successful year were presented that included continued increases in patient base, new patients, and patient visits as well as documentation of the Society's solid financial condition.

The 2009 Champion for Children Award* was presented to:
Linda Gilkerson, Ph.D,
Professor and Director of the
Irving B. Harris Infant Studies Program
at Erikson Institute.  
Her teach, research and community service focus is solely on the well-being of infants and families.  She is a pioneer in the field of developmental care for prematurely born infants and has been a leader in Illinois in integrating mental health services into other systems of care for babies and families.  Dr. Gilkerson is Infant Welfare’s partner in bringing an innovative evidence-based intervention for mother with post-partum depression and their babies to IWS.
