After a great summer hiatus, the Hinsdale Chapter kicked off its year a little early with a train trip into the city! At the end of summer, several members visited various Chicago landmarks in preparation for our big fundraiser – Tablescapes 2012 “Chicago, Our Kind of Town”! It will be held on Saturday, February 12th at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott.
In other news, in early September we held an outdoor cocktail party at Topaz in Burr
Ridge for eight prospective members. Pam Rubin and Donna DeCaigny, our New Member
Chairmen, did a wonderful job planning this fun gathering. We had a lot of laughs
and shared great information about our Chapter and the Infant Welfare Society of
Chicago.
Our first Chapter meeting of the year was held on Sept 7th at the home of Cynthia
Scholl. We began preliminary work on Tablescapes 2012. In addition, we discussed
concepts for various member tables that will be raffled off at our big event in February!
Our new President, Dee Koffron, hosted our first Board Meeting of the year. Incoming
Board members were very enthusiastic to begin their work. Each of them provided
updates on their committees and upcoming plans.
