The table decor conveyed our British

high tea theme.

Our final meeting of this fiscal year took place at the Clinic on May 18th. During the meeting, we welcomed our provisional member, Molly Buck, to the Chapter. Dr. Wilhelm and Maria Penland greeted us, and Dr. Wilhelm gave us a quick tour and update on the state of the Clinic. After our business meeting, we were introduced to Annie Cue, the Director of Child and Adolescent Counseling Services. Annie gave us a very informative look at the inner workings of her department. She also gave us a wish list of items that would be helpful to her patients. We will work on gathering some of these things over the course of the summer. Lastly, she read us a case study that our members found heart wrenching yet encouraging. It was very interesting to hear about this important part of the Clinic’s spectrum of care. After the meeting, we enjoyed lunch at a restaurant near the Clinic. It was a worthwhile trip!

Fundraising ideas are being considered for our Chapter’s fall event. We also hope to have a social event over the summer at a new local establishment, Grady’s Grille.

Our vendors proved to be very popular with our guests.

Spring has been a busy season for our Chapter.  Our annual spring luncheon took place on April 29th at Olympia Fields Country Club.  Our Chairmen for the event, Erin Schoen and Lisa Komorowski, did an excellent job creating table settings with an English flair in keeping with our theme.  Our speaker, Barbara Rinella, dramatized Margaret Thatcher in her depiction of “The Downing Street Years.”  The spring market was well attended with over 15 vendors selling their diverse wares to our 150 guests with something for everyone.  Our Chapter even had its own table of baked goods that proved to be very poplar with our guests.  This event is always a very entertaining and profitable day for us.

Lisa Komorowski and Erin Schoen co-chaired our annual spring luncheon.
