Fall is always a very busy time, and this season was no exception as the Clarendon Hills Chapter worked diligently to carry out several annual activities and events. This year’s fall benefit, Haute Chocolat, held at Medinah Country Club, was a great success, hosting 175 guests and raising $76,000 for Infant Welfare through ticket and raffle sales and silent and live auctions. Guests were treated to a glamorous evening full of good food, great fun and loads of luscious chocolate!
As summer approaches, the Clarendon Hills Chapter has wrapped up its very active year with our annual Kay Rose dinner meeting. Approximately three quarters of our membership attended as well as several guests. We enjoyed a wonderful presentation by Milagros Fernandez focusing on the work of Child Development and Support Services this past year. It is always nice for our members to have an insider’s view of the workings of the Clinic.
We also reminisced about some of our accomplishments including a festive See Santa Party, a successful Haute Chocolat benefit and several donation collections to benefit the Clinic.

During the month of December, the Clarendon Hills Chapter also held its annual Luminaria Sale and assembled kits consisting of brown bags and candles. Over 30,000 candles are sold to town residents who place the candles inside the bags and line their driveways and sidewalks in an unbroken chain of light on Christmas Eve. Once again this year, the residents of Clarendon Hills displayed their generous spirits in support of the Infant Welfare Society.
The See Santa Party and the Holiday Special Gifts Program are also activities to which our members look forward each year. This year, the Auxiliary donated gift bags of toys, books and goodies for distribution to the children of Clinic families during the annual See Santa Party. Attending this event at which children get a visit from Santa and receive their gifts is truly a rewarding day for both contributors and recipients.
For the Holiday Special Gifts Program, our members “adopted” 75 children and purchased much-needed gifts in hopes of making their holidays brighter.
