Family Services Department was re-accredited by CARF - the international organization that accredits mental health services, certifying IWS’s commitment to quality improvement, the best possible outcomes of its services and client satisfaction.

 

 

Chicago Department of Public Health gave special recognition to IWS for achieving exceptionally high immunization rates among our pediatric patients.  IWS has maintained an immunization coverage rate at or near 98 percent for the last 5 years.

IWS received the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Award for Architectural Excellence for its renovation of a 1924 bank building into a 40,000 square foot state-of-the-art community health center.

LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council

Chicago Landmark Commission approved landmark status for the clinic’s historic facade.

Dr. John Wilhelm, Executive Director, received the Damen Award for leadership and service to others from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.  The award is named for Rev. Arnold J. Damen SJ, the founder and first president of Loyola University Chicago.

On September 24, 2011, the Illinois State Historical Society (ISHS) hosted the 27th annual Centennial Awards in Springfield.  John Wilhelm, IWS Executive Director, accepted the award in recognition of the Infant Welfare Society’s 100 year history.

 

“The Society’s Centennial Awards program began in 1984 as a way to identify and recognize Illinois corporations that were founded here and continue to operate in the Prairie State.” said William Furry, ISHS Executive Director.
